Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell returns to New York City and the power-hungry women who inhabit it with Lipstick Jungle, the story of three women on the New York Post’s list of “New York’s 50 Most Powerful Women” who are trying to get and stay ahead. Nico, the editor-in-chief at Bonfire magazine, is juggling her time between her Columbia professor husband and her naive lover; fashion designer Victory Ford is trying to save her business since launching a new line; and Wendy, an executive at a Miramax-ish movie studio, strives to finish her latest Oscar contendor while dealing with her unemployed husband. Some say Lipstick Jungle picks up where Sex and the City left off, only now the women are a little older, a lot richer, but not much better off.
